Technical designer

Technical Designer – Creative Production

We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join a leading creative production studio specialising in bespoke design, graphics, fabrication, experiential brand activations and installations.

You will develop concepts into practical, buildable designs, producing CAD models and technical drawings while working closely with design, project management and fabrication teams to deliver projects to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop concepts into detailed CAD models and technical drawings.
• Manage design projects from initial brief through to production and installation.
• Create presentations and communicate technical designs to clients and internal teams.
• Work closely with design, project management and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and achievable.
• Oversee prototyping and support live production projects.
• Carry out site surveys and assist with installations when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve design processes, efficiency and quality.
• Ensure health and safety and sustainability standards are maintained.

Skills and Requirements

• Strong experience with SolidWorks and CAD software.
• Experience producing technical drawings and buildable 3D models.
• Good understanding of fabrication, tools, machinery and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret technical packs and translate client briefs into practical designs.
• Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience in graphics, creative production, fabrication or a related industry.

Knowledge of Fusion 360, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D printing and rendering software such as KeyShot or Cinema 4D would be advantageous. Electrical and electronics knowledge would also be beneficial.
